Step 1: Procrastination

What a great way to succeed in college, procrastinate on everything. Right now I am trying not to do my lab report for chemistry. I can't get myself to do anything for school without it being crunch time to get something done. It is awful.

It somehow seems to fit with everything else in my life. Everything that takes effort to do has to be done when the time is right.

Today I went to a speech given by "The Dude". He is a big shot professor at Michigan. He even has a library named after him.

I got the idea to go from a person I met on my religious experience at a synagogue. I went to the synagogue with my friend Eliana. While I was sitting awkwardly on the male side of the service, I felt completely lost and had no idea what was going on. Then, an awesome dude named Michael sat next to me and started talking to me about engineering. Little did I know he was the head hauncho of the whole thing.

He showed me what was going on in the service and talked to me about engineering He recommended I read a book about engineering innovation and failures. He also recommended I meet "The Dude".

After my religious experience, I went home thinking tha was maybe the coolest person ever.

The next day I was trying to remember what the book was. Then I see that he emailed me the name of the book. Wow! That blew me away. And also in my email, the dude was going to speak next week.

Naturally, as my random life goes I decided I should go. Then today finally rolled around, and I debated whether I should actually go. I didn't have anybody to go with, and I wasn't sure if I wanted to go.

Finally, it is 10 minutes before the speech started, and I decided to go. It turned out to be awesome and there was free pizza! He talked about his experience building space ships destined for Mars way back in the 60's and all about where he thought the world was going. It really made me feel like I should be an engineer, if not an innovative person.

But hey, what is life but a coincidence.
